When Should You Take
Supplements?
If you take dietary
supplements, vitamins or herbs, there are a few basic guidelines to
follow when taking them. The following expert recommendations can

1. Take your supplements during or after a meal. Unless
directed otherwise, (by the product instructions or your health care
provider), and drink plenty of fluids.
2. Take consistently. To achieve the maximum health
benefits natural supplements must be taken on a regular schedule.
Additionally, it usually takes two to three months of use before you
feel the full positive effects of adding nutritional supplements to
your health care routine.
3. Take as directed. Read the label carefully and take
the dosage recommended and at the time of day recommended. Unless
otherwise directed(by your health care provider), if the label
recommends 3 capsules/tabs per day, it is best to divide that dosage
into three: One in the morning, one in the evening and one before
bed.
4. Keep your health care provider informed. Discuss all
of your dietary supplements (as well as over-the-counter meds) with
your health care provider. Also, keep them informed about your
