Product Description:

Three-quarters of U.S. teens and adults are deficient in vitamin D and these deficits are increasingly being linked to an increase risk for a variety of diseases. These recent findings mark a dramatic increase in the amount of vitamin D deficiency in the U.S. The major role of vitamin D is to maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium, which forms and maintains strong bones. It is used alone or together with calcium to improve bone health and decrease fractures. Vitamin D may also protect against osteoporosis, high blood pressure, and other diseases. Rickets and osteomalacia are classic vitamin D deficiency diseases. In children, vitamin D deficiency causes rickets, which is a softening or weakening of the bones. In adults, vitamin D deficiency can lead to osteomalacia, which causes weak bones and muscles.

Vitamin D is naturally present in very few foods, added to others, and available as a dietary supplement. It is also produced when skin is directly exposed to sunlight.

There a specific groups at risk of Vitamin D deficiency. These include:Breastfed infants, older adults, those with limited sun exposure, people with dark skin, people with inflammatory bowel disease and other conditions causing fat malabsorption, people who are obese or who have undergone gastric bypass surgery. Having blood tests to measure the amount of vitamin D in your blood is the only way to know if you’re getting enough vitamin D or not. The blood test you need is called a 25(OH)D blood test. You can get a blood test at your doctors or you can do an in-home test or get a test at a laboratory. All of these methods of testing should give you accurate results.

Vitamin D is found in salmon, eggs, fortified milk, and cod liver oil.  Supplementing with Vitamin D is also commonly recommended for those at risk for Vitamin D deficiencies and for those who have test results that indicate low Vitamin D levels. I was amazed to learn from the results of a recent blood test that I was vitamin D deficient.... especially since I live in a warm, sunny climate and spend some amount of time outdoors everyday! That's when I started to do some research and learned that it estimated that 1 in 2 adults are most likely low on vitatmin D. The older you are the more likely. Wow, I had no idea and was again shocked to learn that I was one of them. As a regular OneLifeUSA customer, I immediately added your Brabec Basics Vitiamin D to my orders. You've got the product for a price that's great, and your shipping is super fast. Thank you.

Just a quick note of thanks for your Brabec Basics products. The fact that your founder puts out such a high quality line and pays for part of it - well, in today's world let's just say that's not the norm! It is much appreciated. I enjoy the Vitamin D, Retinol Cream, and Raspberry Ketone. Please pass on my thanks.

At my last physical, my doctor told me that he wanted to me start taking Vitamin D. I was happy to see you offered it under your Brabec Basics line. With so many older adults being advised to take a vitamin D supplement, and so many of us on limited and fixed incomes; your Brabec Basics products are a God send.
